In 2012 Tascomi secured a major contract to supply a national cloud-based Environmental Health solution to the HSE Ireland, which was previously devolved separately to the 30 County Councils in Ireland. This is currently the largest implementation of an Environmental Health shared service across the UK and Ireland.
Tascomi utilised its unique functionality to securely separate data within one single software instance to maintain the integrity of multiple counties data in a single instance of a system, combining the skills and experience of the HSE Ireland across its shared service into a single, forward looking collective. Tascomi were successfully able to produce a comprehensive, versatile and user-friendly cloud solution that is currently accessed by over 700 Users across the Republic of Ireland.
When asked, the HSE stated that a highlight of a shared system has been the ability to have a single system reporting tool stemming from a single data source. The reporting facility has allowed officers to create complex reports and drill deeper into their data; with no assistance from Tascomi as the system supplier. The HSE commented on Tascomi’s unique ability to scale from 500 users in 2012, to 700 users in 2017, with a total of zero hours in downtime.
The HSE highlighted that the largest return on investment was associated with the savings made on server maintenance and local ICT support because of the managed service operation maintained by Tascomi. The HSE also found unexpected commercial benefits associated with the use of a shared national system; users changing to other areas of the organisation did not require retraining, as the same solution is in place across all 80 offices, resulting in an overall reduction of the national training budget.
