This month saw Team Tascomi expanding once again- we have nearly filled our recently expanded offices! Katie Lemon joined the Project Management team on her year-out placement.
Originally from Belfast, Katie studied at Victoria College Belfast before proceeding to study Business Management at Ulster University, Coleraine Campus.

What brought you to Tascomi? Although I had applied for a few placement opportunities, it was the role at Tascomi that definitely struck me as something I felt I would really enjoy. The brief job description and company details sounded both exciting and challenging. Having undertaken further research on the company and the job role it sounded even better. Having been successful in gaining an interview, Roisin and Mike made me even keener to become a member of the Tascomi team; they were extremely friendly and I felt so comfortable. Unsurprisingly, I was super excited when I got the call to offer me the job.
What would people never guess you do in your role? I don’t think many people would believe that I make it in before 9am every day.
What 3 words would you use to describe Tascomi? Exciting, focused & friendly.
What do you like/enjoy most about your job? As the Tascomi team is pretty small and in particularly the project management team, I’m working very closely with people. Everyone has been really friendly and made me feel extremely welcome from the moment I joined- the work environment is super friendly and comfortable but also very focused. Everyone is very supportive and there is a lot of trust. I also feel like my contribution is really valued. Finally… everyone seems to love cake- so that’s always a plus.
What advice would you give to a new Tascomi employee? Just come in and be yourself.
Where do you see yourself in five years? I’d really like to see myself working at Tascomi as a full-time Project Manager in five years.
Favourite country visited? France.
Would you rather be a tiny elephant or a giant squirrel? Definitely a tiny elephant… That’s so cute!
If you had to eat one meal, every day for the rest of your life, what would it be? Anything with sweet chilli sauce and I’d be happy!
What phobias do you have? I’m scared of the dark and birds freak me out!
What is your favourite book? It’s definitely ‘Before I Die’ by Jenny Downham.
What is an ability you wish you had? Either invisibility or the ability to fly.
