We’re Software Developers, Project Managers, Marketeers & more – but we’re also real people.

Meet some of the people who make Tascomi happen and learn more about who we are and what we do…

The end of May saw a few fresh faces at Tascomi Headquarters. Victoria Boyle joining us on her year-out placement as Marketing Executive & Aimi Forgan joining the team as Graduate Software Developer.

//Victoria Boyle//

Born & Bred in Northern Ireland, Victoria attended the Royal School Dungannon before proceeding to study BSc(Hons) Marketing at the University of Ulster Jordanstown campus.

What is your role at Tascomi? My role at Tascomi as Marketing executive is extremely varied and this is something I love. Daily tasks include Market Analysis and Research, developing resources such as case studies and presentations, maintaining our internal Customer Relations Management system with up to date information, assisting with the planning and management of events and campaigns, providing content for marketing activities – press releases, promotional material as and when required, occasional travel, maintaining company social media accounts and creating content for the Corporate website.

What would people never guess you do in your role? Start at 8.30am..

What 3 words would you use to describe Tascomi? Innovative, welcoming & challenging.

How will Tascomi help you in your career development? Aware of the fierce competition to gain a year’s industrial placement I feel extremely fortunate to have the opportunity to spend a year in a company with a reputation like Tascomi. My role within Tascomi is both diverse and challenging, allowing me to apply my knowledge and learn from the vast experience of others.

What does a typical day in Tascomi look like for you? No two days at Tascomi are the same and this is something I like/enjoy most about my job and also something I find most challenging for my own personal development. My daily tasks are extremely varied which allows me to develop new skills, apply relevant knowledge and theory and get involved in a wide range of the Company’s activities. This is in line with the modern marketing concept which believes marketing  “is intended to focus all of a company’s activities upon uncovering and satisfying customer needs.”

What advice would you give to a new Tascomi employee? Don’t be afraid to ask questions!  As the saying goes, “If you don’t know the answer – it’s not a dumb question.”, get involved in as much as you can within the company and finally, push yourself out of your comfort zone- attempt things which aren’t easy or which you have no experience of before, it’s all part of the learning curve!

A little more light-hearted…

What values are important to you? Integrity, honesty, adaptability & a positive attitude.

Favourite country visited? Romania.

3 words to best describe you… Energetic, chatty and caring.

If you had to eat one meal, every day for the rest of your life, what would it be? It would be a very close call between … Honey-chilli chicken & cashew nuts, BBQ Chicken pizza or brie & strawberry jam sandwiches.

What did you want to be when growing up? I went through many ‘notions’ and phases.. the longest and favourite idea was a midwife.

What phobias do you have? Eating a mushroom & shower curtains.

Tell us three things people don’t know about you… Im a keen runner, swimmer & baker.

//Aimi Forgan//

From the small town Linlithgow in Scotland, Aimi has only just moved to Northern Ireland 3 weeks ago. To sum up her first few weeks in her very own words..”beautiful countryside, lovely towns & villages but terrible drivers.”

What does a typical day in Tascomi look like for you? In brief, a typical day involves learning new systems and problem solving developing applications.

What do like most about Tascomi? One of my favourite things about Tascomi is the time they invest in helping guide you and helping to learn their systems. For me this is a huge benefit when starting a new development role – especially coming straight from university.
