Minister of Regional Development, Mr Danny Kennedy, MLA officially launched Newry and Mourne District Council’s, Mobile Licensing App on Wednesday 20 March 2013 at the Canal Court Hotel, Newry.
The Licensing Section of Newry and Mourne District Council are pioneering major improvements to the day to day working practices of their Licensing Officers, by using Tascomi Ltd’s innovative mobile technology to assist the proprietors of licensed premises to comply with the Fire Safety and Licensing legislation by carrying out regular inspections and enforcing compliancy.
Over the past two years a development process has been undertaken by the Council and Tascomi throught the very successful pilot.
Reduce the necessity for a paper-based system to save costs and improve service
The results have far exceeded everyone’s expectations, radically transforming the day-today workflow in the Licensing Section and significantly reducing paper output. The Council are pleased that this pioneering App helped to meet one of the five Council-Wide STEM objectives to ‘Use LESS stationery and other resources’. It has helped with better scheduling and more efficient use of time including optimnised time out of the office.
