Today, celebrations are high with the announcement that Tascomi is creating 13 new jobs paying around £35,000 a year as part of a drive to increase overseas sales. Furthermore, Canada is within the sights of Tascomi, who create web-based software for local authorities from our base in Hillsborough.

Tascomi products are used in the electronic management of public protection, environmental health, dog licensing and inspections. We are embarking on an expansion following an investment of £100,000 supported by Danske Bank. The investment has also enabled Tascomi to expand and renovate their office space.

Tascomi was recently appointed as the sole provider of software for public protection and building control for around 20 local authorities in Wales.

Tascomi managing director Richard Martin said: “Up until this year we were mainly working for the public sector in Northern Ireland but more recently we have expanded into the rest of the UK and Ireland.

“Our success in Wales required fast access to increased working capital, an investment which has helped us to look at opportunities in other export markets. This year we are hoping to export our solutions to Canada.”

Mr Martin said it had approached Dankse Bank for an overdraft to fund growth.

“Danske Bank saw that we were a small, indigenous company with aspirations to expand into new markets and they very quickly got behind our plans and provided vital support which has enabled us to take the next step.”

Ian Beatty, relationship manager at Danske Bank, said: “Tascomi is an exciting local company with big plans to take its solutions around the world.

“Danske Bank has been pleased to be involved in this investment. We have provided the company with the financial resources they need to continue to grow.”
