Tascomi Limited has announced that it has been acquired by British software company Idox plc. The deal, completed on 09 August 2019, will see Hillsborough based Tascomi’s 33 staff absorbed into Idox group bringing the total number of employees to 670.

With over 13 years’ experience, Tascomi develop and deliver industry-leading, web-based software solutions to Local Authorities and Government departments across the UK and Ireland. Tascomi’s product portfolio includes innovative solutions for Planning, Building Control, Land Charges, Environmental Health, Trading Standards and Licensing.

Idox plc, a leading provider in services and solutions to the Public Sector, Engineering Information Management and Content markets, have acquired Tascomi to strengthen their current Local Government provision.

Roisin Murray, Programme Director at Tascomi, said: “With our innovative cloud-based software, Tascomi has been growing exponentially in recent years. We are proud that the potential of both our products and people has been recognised by Idox plc and look forward to the positive impact their market leading position can make to our future as a group.

David Meaden, Chief Operating Officer at Idox commented: “I am delighted that we have completed the acquisition of Tascomi by Idox. The addition of Tascomi’s technology platform to Idox’s deep domain knowledge and account management model will be a powerful combination and we look forward to providing the next generation of software solutions to customers in our core public sector markets.

This acquisition is a sound strategic fit enabling us to enhance our overall cloud offering in conjunction with growing our SaaS revenue base. We know that the Tascomi products are attractive to parts of the market where Idox has been historically less strong whilst the Idox products address customers that Tascomi has not been able to penetrate. We believe this makes a winning combination!

It will also build on the significant operational progress our group has made in the last year, reshaping our board and senior management team, and establishing sound business models to drive great value from the assets we have in our business.”

Tascomi was founded by current Managing Director, Dr Richard Martin, who has stepped down from his role on completion of the acquisition.
